Liverpool Write Now Festival 2011

The date is set…
FRIDAY 13 to SATURDAY 23 APRIL 2011
And the search is on for the magnificent EIGHT that will go to make up WRITE NOW 2011, Liverpool’s annual one-act play festival.

We are looking for submissions from playwrights in the hunt for a handful of original, exciting, entertaining, thought-provoking new pieces of theatre that will go to make up Liverpool’s second annual one-act Festival.

Submissions Opens = Monday 19 July 2010
Close = Friday 24 September 2010

The 2010 Submissions Process saw a constant stream of new and previously unpublished scripts and we a looking for more for Write Now 2011.

HOWEVER
…the second annual Festival has more opportunities than 2010. For the first time we are also inviting submissions for a brand new FAMILY AUDIENCE strand. Yes, shows for kids!

The Festival takes place over the first week of the Easter holiday so, not only are we inviting playwrights to submit their texts for 60 minute pieces – with more adult themes – we are looking to create a platform for brand new writing for children in the 40-45 minute Family Audience strand.

So, if you’re a writer dust off that piece you’ve had tucked away…it could be the start of something big…

GET INVOLVED
If you’re an actor, director, technician, front of house or box office person then watch this space…

Once all pieces have been read by our Adjudicating Panel and the seven pieces have been selected (which should be in late November 2010), actors, directors, technicians and so forth will be invited to be part of the Festival which will run from Friday 13 to Saturday 23 April 2011, presenting performances of new plays in a Liverpool city-centre venue dedicated to new writing.
